Petr Kukal: A man, a train and a spelling-book

Born in Poděbrady in 1970, Petr Kukal graduated from the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague. He has worked as a teacher at primary and secondary schools, a chief editor of the Moderní vyučování (Modern Education) journal and editor-in-chief at the Alter publishing house. He has also worked at the press unit of the Ministry of Culture (Twitter account administrator) and a spokesman of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University. He now works as a social media manager and communication specialist at the National Library of the Czech Republic. He has published nearly twenty books including poetry collections such as Předposlední vlak (The Penultimate Train, 2017), prose (Deník muže ve středních letech/A Middle-Aged Man’s Diary, 2013), children’s books (Písmenková polívka/Letter Soup, 2020) and textbooks (Slabikář/Spelling-book, 2018).
